Deploy Relationships

A deploy relationship indicates the specific component instances that a single node instance deploys or uses.

For example, you may illustrate that an e-commerce application can operate on several different types of servers with various processor speeds. Each server (represented by a node instance) runs or uses specific .dll files (represented by components) of the e-commerce system. You can add deploy relationships between each server node and each .dll component to indicate which components run on specific nodes.

Connector

A deploy relationship appears as a dashed line with an arrow at one end. The keyword «deploy» appears next to the connector.

Using Deploy Relationships

You can add deploy relationships to your model to show that a component instance runs on a specific node instance. The deploy relationships in a model usually appear in deployment diagrams.
